Course Description: This course focuses on the statistical, optimization, and artificial intelligence methods and their applications to the 1) condition health monitoring, 2) future condition prediction, and 3) optimal maintenance and rehabilitation decision making, for the management of transportation infrastructure systems (for example, road and airport pavements, bridges, and rail tracks).

CIVE 6354: Advanced Transportation Engineering
Course Description: This course focuses on theory and practice in transportation decision-making and planning through 1) an introduction to mathematical modeling principles (including optimization and statistics), 2) comprehensive presentation of trip-based models for transportation demand analysis (including models of trip generation, trip distribution, trip mode choice, and trip assignment and network modeling), and 3) introduction to tour- and activity-based models for transportation demand analysis.
